Healy Canyon

4 new gear routes in Healy Canyon, upstream of Sunshine Village parking lot (no evidence of past development visible).

Access: walk up sunshine ski out then healy pass trail. Not far up the trail, 5min max, plunge into the forest straight down towards Healy Creek, as if you were heading right for the far right end of the cliff that the early worm & Bourgeau Slabs are on. These routes are located on the far side of the creek, perhaps 100m downstream of where waterfalls make the creek unnavigable.

Its alright rock in a nice location. Solid tree belays a distance back from the top of the routes were used, though preferable would be bolted belays (apologies, but we don't own a drill) a little lower than the top....the upper 5m L.M. and W.C. are loose shite, though a nice finish could be bolted on Litigation Mitigation. W.C.B. is the obvious corner at the left side of the main crag, not visible in these photos, and is a little run-out at the beginning. Flying the Flag 5.8 is the best, stays dry during rain(mostly) and is in a nice position above the creek. It is the longest route at maybe 30m +, the others are shorter. A 'walk-off' exists between FTF and WCB. The canyon has steep sport potential up & downstream, and is a delightful, tranquil place. Or bring your wetsuit...there are fun canyoning adventures to be had with a little effort.
